Not all motivation leads to God’s calling. Be inspired to balance your drive with His direction and stay aligned with His purpose to find true fulfillment.

Hey there!
Motivation is a powerful force in our lives. It drives us to achieve, work hard, and make a difference. But what happens when we find ourselves motivated to do everything except what God has called us to do? In today’s episode, I'm talking about the struggle many of us face when our motivation is misdirected. We're looking at the biblical story of Mary and Martha to see how they balanced their lives and priorities in the presence of Jesus.
Martha was overwhelmed by the tasks at hand, feeling like she had to do it all, while Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet, prioritizing time with Him. This story shows us how easy it is to be distracted by what seems like important work yet miss the calling God has placed on our hearts.
When you find yourself taking on a lot, stop and check in with God. Ask Him to reveal if your current pursuits are truly aligned with His will. Sometimes the most "good" things can pull us away from the best things God has for us. Align your motivation with His purpose and allow Him to give you the energy and wisdom to do what He's called you to do. As you prioritize His calling, you'll find that you're letting go of time wasters and freeing yourself from disappointments.
Three Takeaways to Remember:
Not everything that’s good is aligned with God’s best for you. Be intentional about seeking His will for your life.
Take moments to sit at Jesus' feet and listen. Your work will be more fulfilling when you’re rooted in His presence.
When you're overwhelmed, pause and pray. Realign your motivation and ask God to give you clarity on where your energy is best spent.
Today’s Verse: Mark 10:38-428:36 — “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Let’s Talk About It: What’s one thing you’re currently pursuing that you need to pray over for clarity from God?
Blessings,
Jessica
